One of the key roles a Christian leader plays is removing any barriers that keep emerging leaders and new Christians from reaching their potential and the church from fulfilling the Great Commission. One way to do this is through prayer. Another is removing controllers from power. A third is to provide a variety of avenues of service from entry level ministries to full time Christian service. A fourth is to take a group of potential leaders under your wing and mentor their character and coach them in building skills for ministry and life. A fifth is refusing to listen to gossip but instead nipping it in the bud by not just refusing to listen but also letting it be known that such activity is not welcome among the Body. A sixth is by praying for those leaders in authority over you that their power might not go to their head.
