With Easter coming soon there are some unique opportunities that you and your church can do to serve your community while promoting your Easter services.

  • Invite your congregation to put on community wide yard sale to benefit a local charity or cause. Offer a tax receipt to any donors and even offer to pick up larger items. Make it a fun community event by providing hot dogs, music, and fliers promoting your church’s Easter week activities.
  • Offer “Full Service” at local gas stations the Saturday before Easter. Pump gas, wash windshields, and give every one a plastic Easter egg with a candy kiss and an invitation to church services the next day. If you really want to make a big impact and have cars lined up around the block, offer a $.10 a gallon buy-down. Understand you will need to budget at least a couple of dollars per car. You can limit the period to a few hours, but the publicity you will receive will be well worth it
  • Organize a car wash free of charge with no strings attached. Just leave an invitation card with your church’s Easter worship activities in each vehicle. Be sure to contact your local media and ask them to promote your events in advance.
