While Nero Fiddled …

… Rome burned.

We all know that is not literal fact, but its imagery still reflects what is happening today to mainline Christianity. Too many of us are fiddling while our once relevant denominations are becoming irrelevance. We are constantly getting sidetracked from our main objective- making disciples who make disciples who change the world. Most mainline denominations are spending more time, energy, and money on issues other than making disciples – racism, sexual orientations, being a service organization, to name the big three. These issues are important, but none of them hold a candle to the primary objective of Christianity. And it’s time we refocused on the primary issue.

My friends, Rome is burning. Mainline denominations are in a free fall. We cannot afford to allow such misdirection to take up most of our time, energy, and money.
