What’s Up

I’m not big on bragging about my books (I’ll let my wife handle that – and she does), but High-Voltage Spirituality has stood the test of time. It’s one of those resources that busy believers still reach for when their spiritual batteries are running on fumes.

And let’s be honest, the Christian life isn’t a one-and-done decision. It’s a daily plug-in to the Divine Power Grid. The problem? Most of us are trying to run on yesterday’s charge. So today, I’m handing over three of the spiritual habits from the book that you can use wherever and whenever you are – whether you’re herding toddlers, stuck in traffic, or neck-deep in church committee chaos.

Habit #1: A.M. Projection

This one’s for the morning folks, and even the “I-need-coffee-before-Jesus” crowd. Before your feet hit the floor, spend three minutes prayerfully walking through your day. Mentally rehearse the meetings, the errands, the tough conversations. Ask the Spirit to prep your heart so you show up like Jesus would. It’s like a spiritual GPS recalibration before you hit the chaos.

Habit #2: P.M. Reflection

End your day the way you want to live it: on purpose. Take ten minutes before bed to review your day with God. Where did you nail it? Where did you blow it? Where did you sense his presence, or miss it entirely? It’s a simple inventory that keeps your heart soft, your direction clear, and your excuses in check.

Habit #3: Conversational Prayer

No thees, thous, or theatrics needed. Just talk to God throughout your day like you would your best friend. Stuck in traffic? Pray. Waiting in the checkout line? Pray. Walking into a tough meeting? You guessed it: pray. Practice tuning your spirit to the whisper of God. Over time, you’ll hear him more clearly, even when the world is screaming.

So What

These three spiritual habits won’t cost you a thing, except intention. You’ve already got the time. Use it to plug into the Source instead of coasting on fumes. The truth is, you don’t need a monastery, a prayer closet, or an empty calendar to live a high-voltage life. You just need to practice being spiritually present in your actual life … on the bus, in the car, before the meeting, or after the school drop-off.

And … ?

High-Voltage Spirituality was written for the person who doesn’t have time to sit cross-legged on a mountain all day. It’s built for reality. For the nurse changing shifts, the mom running errands, the pastor sandwiched between Sunday prep and Wednesday night youth. It offers dozens of practical, plug-and-play spiritual disciplines that can fit into any schedule.

It’s not about doing more.
It’s about living different.
